Start off the school year at our annual Pre-Kindergarten Picnic
Each October, Wesley Grove UMC celebrates Christian Education Sunday by recognizing our Sunday Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten teachers during the 11 a.m. worship service. During the service, pre-kindergarten students showcase songs and dances they have learned. After the worship service, the Young Adults host the Pre-Kindergarten picnic to kick off the new school year, and welcome new and returning families to our church. It’s also a time where church members can mingle with the Pre-Kindergarten families and grow meaningful relationships.
The menu and theme change each year. We’ve had indoor picnics, outdoor picnics, brunches, face painting, visits from the local fire department, and an address from the founder of the pre-kindergarten. One our favorite themes was “Where are they now?”, which allowed us to showcase the accomplishments of pre-school graduates over the years.
Despite the varying food and activities of our Pre-Kindergarten picnics, the one thing that remains constant is the wonderful fellowship that is enjoyed by all!
