Fellowship Group for adults in their 20s and 30s
The Young Adult Group consists of vibrant individuals in their 20s and 30s who are all at different stages in their lives – single, dating, with and without children, just graduated, or well into their careers. The group meets each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in classroom 32 in the basement of Fellowship Hall to mingle, plan church and community events.
Each year the Young Adults host several events and activities for the church, community, and preschool families. Below are just a few of the items the group actively participates in:
Pre-K Picnic: The Young Adults host a picnic after worship on Christian Education Sunday to kick-off the new school year and welcome new and returning pre-school students. Delicious food is served while various activities are available to the children.
Movie Nights: At least once a year, the Fellowship Hall is transformed into a cozy movie theater with all the necessities – popcorn, pizza, and ice cream. The latest Pixar, Disney, or other child friendly movie is projected onto the big screen for a fun-filled evening.
Throughout the year, friends and family gather together to attend one of our many social events, including a recipe exchange, Soup and Stew, Shopping Events, and Cookie Exchanges. Other events and projects the Young Adults participate in are:
Strawberry Festival: The Young Adults host a Kids Korner at the annual Strawberry Festival where children can play games, win prizes, or play in the moon bounce while their parents shop.
Fall Festival: The Young Adults coordinate and run Wesley Grove’s annual Fall Festival where the church grounds are opened up to the community with BBQ, shopping, live music, children activities, produce, and more.
Throughout the year, the group gathers to relax and unwind outside of the church setting. Past outings include dinner at local restaurants, a summer BBQ and bonfire, and paintball.
