Join one of our monthly mission efforts

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
– Hebrews 13:16

Wesley Grove strives to serve those in need. Each month we support different, and sometimes multiple, missions to directly assist our local and worldwide community. Our missions vary by year; however, below is a listing of projects we sponsor consistently:

NCEON

Wesley Grove UMC is a proud member of The North County Emergency Outreach Network (NCEON), a local all-volunteer Christian organization that is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am – 2 pm, providing assistance in emergency situations to local residents facing eviction or utility shut-off, and offering help with referrals, medications, and a food bank. If you would like to volunteer to assist NCEON or to make a donation, please call NCEON at 410-766-1826.

Wesley Grove is a proud member of the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
UMCOR

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a humanitarian relief organization with worldwide connections. A nonprofit agency of the United Methodist Church, UMCOR reaches worldwide to provide relief in five core areas: hunger, health, refugees, emergencies, and relief supplies. One hundred percent of all donations go directly to the project or relief effort for which they are designated. Wesley Grove UMC supports UMCOR.

Every summer, Wesley Grove members donate supplies to put together 25 backpacks for students for the upcoming school year.
Backpacks

During the months of July and August each year, the congregation of Wesley Grove accepts donations to fill approximately 25 school backpacks for elementary children in the local area who otherwise might not have the materials they need to start the school year. The backpacks are then delivered to the school for distribution to the students who need them.

Food Baskets

Wesley Grove UMC provides 25 food baskets at both Thanksgiving and Christmas to local families who, otherwise, would not have a traditional holiday meal. The baskets include canned goods collected by the church-sponsored Boy Scout troops, and a turkey, eggs, bread, milk, and potatoes purchased by the church.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)
